When it comes to staying connected with your Inrico mobile Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radio, ensuring a reliable power source is crucial. Whether you’re on the move or stationed at a desk, there are convenient powering options to keep your device operational. This guide will walk you through the different methods to power your Inrico TM-7 Plus (2023) mobile PoC radios seamlessly, both in vehicles and from wall sockets.

Wiring Methods for Vehicle Power

Using your Inrico TM-7 Plus (2023) mobile PoC radio in a vehicle requires a reliable and efficient power connection. The Inrico 3 Pin TM-7Plus Power Cable included in every package offers several wiring configurations to suit your needs.

Method 1: Ignition Controlled Power
  • Red Wire (BAT+): Connect to the positive pole of the power supply

  • Black Wire (GND-): Connect to the ground or negative pole of the power supply

  • Yellow Wire (ACC): Connect to the ignition (cigarette lighter) of the vehicle.

Method 1 Implications
  • Device powers on with the ignition

  • Prevents battery drain when the vehicle is off

  • Ideal for devices that should only run when the vehicle is in use.

Method 2: Continuous Power
  • Red Wire (BAT+): Connect to the positive pole of the power supply

  • Yellow Wire (ACC): Connect to the positive pole of the power supply

  • Black Wire (GND-): Connect to the ground or negative pole of the power supply.

Method 2 Implications
  • Device is always powered

  • Suitable for devices that need constant power

  • Requires manual on/off control to prevent battery drain

Method 3: Simplified Continuous Power
  • Red Wire (BAT+): Connect to the positive pole of the power supply

  • Black Wire (GND-): Connect to the ground or negative pole of the power supply

  • Yellow Wire (ACC): Leave disconnected

Method 3 Implications
  • Continuous power without ignition control

  • Simplified wiring setup

  • Suitable for devices requiring constant power, but monitor for battery drain.

These configurations ensure your Inrico TM-7 Plus mobile PoC radio is always ready for vehicle operations, whether you’re using it for work or any other type of communication on the road.

Note: If the red wire (BAT+) is connected to the positive terminal of the power supply, and the black wire (GND-) and the yellow wire (ACC) are connected to the ground or negative terminal, the radio will not turn on. Please reconnect the power wires according to the instructions above.

Wiring for Fixed Locations

For indoor use, powering your Inrico TM-7 Plus (2023) is equally straightforward. However, it will also require the Inrico TM Series AC Power Adapter.

The power cable included with your radio package is the Inrico 3 Pin TM-7Plus Power Cable and it only allows you to mount and operate your device from a vehicle.

To mount and operate the TM-7 Plus (2023) on a desk within buildings and offices would require a connection to a wall socket. This is especially beneficial for dispatch operators who require a desk-mounted setup. To achieve this, you will also require the Inrico TM Series AC Power Adapter.

Connect the red wire of the 3-pin cable to the positive terminal of the power adapter, and the black to the negative terminal.

The 3-pin power cable is a standard accessory that comes in every package of the TM-7 Plus (2023) mobile PoC radio. It is also sold separately if you require a replacement.

Features of the Wall Adapter
  • Compatibility: Designed for use with Inrico TM-7 Plus, TM-7 Plus (2023), and TM-9 mobile PoC radios.

  • Convenience: Enables you to power your radio from a standard wall socket, ensuring uninterrupted operation when not in a vehicle.

  • Ease of Use: Once you've wired the terminals correctly, simply plug into a wall socket to maintain a constant power supply for your radio.

This setup is perfect for dispatch centers, office environments, and any indoor location where maintaining communication is essential.

By understanding and utilizing these power options, you can make the most out of your Inrico mobile PoC radio, ensuring it is always ready when you need it the most.
